RIVER COUNTRY

This is Arizona’s water playground, the portion of the state that hugs the Colorado River as it leaves the Grand Canyon. At Lake Mead National Recreation Area, visitors can rent boats or bring their own to spend leisurely days on Lake Mead and Lake Mohave. Boat tours and dinner cruises are two popular entertainment options here. Further south along the Colorado River lies beautiful Lake Havasu, unlikely home of the original London Bridge! Built in 1831 over the River Thames in England, the bridge was dismantled in 1962 and, a few years later, reassembled in Lake Havasu City, Arizona.
