INDIAN COUNTRY

The proud heritage of the Hopi, Navajo, Pueblo, and other Native peoples lives on throughout Arizona, but it’s experienced most powerfully in the northeastern sector of the state. Here in the crossroads of cultures, four corners meet - Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, and Utah. Canyon de Chelly National Monument is home to ancient cliff dwellings and to contemporary Navajo who continue to live and farm here. At the Petrified Forest National Park, you’ll find ancient trees that turned to stone and fossils dating back millions of years.
