Felton:

Smyrna:
Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge, (bird watching, hiking, auto-tour). From Dover, take Rte. 13 north to Rte. 42 east (Fast Landing Rd.). Turn onto Rte. 9 north to Whitehall Neck Rd. or Rte. 82 (about two miles). Best bird watching is in fall and spring.
Port Penn:
Port Penn Interpretive Center, (self-guided tours of historic buildings, an 1886 schoolhouse, and folklife museum. Bird watching near the marsh). Intersection of Rte. 9 and Rd. 2. 302-836-2533

Lewes:

Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge,(bird watching, hiking, canoeing, boating). From Lewes, take Rte. 16 north, about 10 miles. 302-684-8419
Cape May-Lewes Ferry, (ferry ride between Delaware and New Jersey. Some cars allowed). The terminal is next to the Cape Henlopen State Park entrance. Take Hwy 9 east, about 1 mile. 302-644-6030
Rehoboth Beach (beach sports, swimming, biking, kite flying, beach combing). From the north, take Rte. 113 and 13 to Rte. 1, then take Rte. 1A east to the beach. From the west, take Rte. 50 to Rte 404 east. Follow Rte 9 east to Rte 1 south, then to Rte. 1A. 800-441-1329 (visitor information). Also consider Dewey beach (south on Rte. 1A).
