| The Aviation Heritage National Historic Park in Dayton recounts the meticulous work that led two ordinary Ohio brothers to reach their extraordinary dream of engine-powered human flight. Strongly opposed to slavery, many Ohioans harbored thousands of slaves escaping to freedom during the Civil War period. These stories of courage and hope are commemorated at Cincinnati's National Underground Railroad Freedom Center. Seven U.S. presidents were born in Ohio, including Taft who is remembered at the William Howard Taft National Historic Site in Cincinnati. Take a nostalgic look at antique cars at the Classic Car Museum and celebrate football's glory days at the Pro Football Hall Of Fame, both in Canton. As exciting as Ohio is to history buffs, nature lovers will find plenty to enjoy here, too.
