  Nothing like the rest of Oregon, the eastern part of the state offers spectacular desert vistas and wild river rapids to ride. Hells Canyon (what a name!) presents a surreal landscape of canyons and gorges, ridges and ravines - a fitting playground for the rugged outdoor enthusiast. Mountains here offer alpine oases in the midst of a sublimely beautiful arid land.
