As its name suggests, the Missouri River area is the region for boaters, fishers, lake swimmers, and birders. Follow in the footsteps of Lewis and Clark as you travel through these prairie grasslands. At Snake Creek, fish for bass, pike, and sauger, or simply float along with the current. Watch for the "burning bluffs," bits of oil-rich shale that have been struck by lightening and continue to smoke for years.
