An RV Vacation to Savor | Wine Country Vacation Escapes

Throughout the United States there are many destinations to enjoy the fantastic wines produced in the country. Some regions like Napa Valley have already gained a reputation for their fantastic wines, however there are many regions that offer fantastic wines and a beautiful vacation destination.

Napa Valley, CA

Napa Valley is renewed for its winery tours and tastings. There are five towns spread across this Valley and each as unique wineries. Visitors can spend time in one area or plan a trip to explore all five towns. The northern end of the valley, near Calistoga, is home to Castello di Amorosa and the world class Chateau Montelena Winery. Near St. Helena, visitors can stop at the Beringer Vineyards, which is the oldest continually operating winery. Continuing north visitors can stop at the Robert Mondave Winery, close to the towns of Oakville and Rutherford. In the town of Napa visitors can enjoy a selection of different Napa wines in a central location at Wineries of Napa Valley.

Santa Barbara, CA

Santa Barbara also offers visitors excellent wining and dining options. Santa Barbara is known for the fabulous wines being made in Santa Barbara wine country. Visitors will love taking winery tours and enjoying tastings of some of the local wines. One of the best ways to enjoy the wines of Santa Barbara is to visit one of the tasting rooms within the city, which offer tastings of many of the wines from wineries that don't have tasting rooms. In addition, there are tours, which visitors are sure to enjoy.

Sonoma County Wine Country, CA

Along the North Coast of California, visitors can explore Sonoma County's Wine Country. This region of California is filled with wineries, which produce spectacular wines. Visitors to Sonoma County can enjoy a wide variety of wine tastings, while staying at a local winery. In addition, the region is also filled with recreational activities and natural wonders.

Cape Cod Winery, MA

Cape Cod has a variety of festivals and dining, which celebrate the delicious products of the regions agriculture industries, which includes shellfish, cranberries and wine. One way to enjoy these products and the industry is to take a tour of the Cape Cod Winery. At the winery visitors can taste the delicious variety of wines throughout the year. During the summer visitors can take a tour of the winery. After enjoying this fantastic piece of Cape Cod agriculture, visitors can stop and take a tour of the cranberry bogs at the Cape Cod Bog and Cranberry Company.

Biltmore Estate, NC

Visitors to Asheville should stop and enjoy the 8000 acre estate built by George Vanderbilt.  There are guided tours of the house and gardens. Visitors can also enjoy all of the activities at the Antler Hill Village including the winery. The winery tours are a great way to enjoy the wines of the area. For visitors looking for a more outdoor experience there are plenty of activities, including horseback rides, carriage rides, biking, fishing and much more.

Finger Lakes Wine Tours, NY

The Finger Lakes region of New York has an amazing configuration of lakes, which look like the fingers on a hand. The Finger Lakes region is also known as a great wine country. The same unique geography that produced the amazing lakes, also protects the area from some of the harsher weather, which protects the vineyards and creates the best growing conditions. This makes for great wines and is the east coast's very own Napa Valley. In fact, the are has over 100 vineyards and wineries. Many of these wineries are open to visitors, so you too can enjoy the fabulous wines in the region.

Willamette Valley, OR

Oregon's Willamette Valley is a bountiful landscape, filled with farms and plenty of fascinating activities. This fertile landscape stretches from Portland south to Eugene. Visitors to the Willamette Valley are sure to find fruit and farm stands filled with fresh and delicious produce during the spring and summer growing seasons. Wine enthusiasts also will enjoy visiting the many vineyards and wineries found throughout the region. The Willamette Valle is also an excellent destination for outdoor recreation, including hot air ballooning, mountain biking, fishing and much more. The mild weather in this region makes it an ideal year-round destination, with plenty of everyone's favorite activities available throughout the year.

Lake Chelan, WA

On Lake Chelan you will find many recreational opportunities. In addition, the Chelan area has many fantastic vineyards. You can spend a wonderful time at a local vineyard tasting some locally produced Washington wines. If you spend a few days on Lake Chelan you can thoroughly enjoy some of the recreational opportunities the lake provides, such as boating, swimming, and jet skiing. You can spend some time having fun in the sun on this beautiful lake.
