 Salt Lake City: (SLC).
Like many towns in Utah, SLC's streets form a grid with the starting-point at Temple Square, downtown. Walk the grounds or visit the family history library or Museum of Church History and Art. Corner of Main St. and South Temple. 800-537-9703

Park City:
As Utah's premier resort town, it is the jumping-off place for winter sports and fine dining. From SLC, take I-80 east to exit 145,then follow Utah 224 (about 35 minutes). 800-453-1360

Great Salt Lake and Antelope Island State Park (buffalo viewing, swimming, historical museum). In SLC, take I-15 to exit 335, then go west 6 miles to the entrance, then another 7 miles across the causeway. 801-773-2941

Timpanogos Cave National Monument (spelunking, hiking; May-October only). From SLC, go south on I-15 to exit 287, then Utah 92 east into American Fork Canyon. 801-756-5238
