Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area (biking, fishing, boating, swimming, hiking). From Vernal, take Hwy 191 north to the junction with Utah 44. Follow Hwy 191 along the eastern side (toward Dutch John) or Utah 44 on the west. 435-784-3445
King's Peak (hiking, camping, fishing, cross-country skiing). Visit the Vernal Ranger District office (355 N. Vernal Ave. 435-789-1181) for informtaion about traveling into the backcountry.
