 WHERE TO GO

 Arches National Park and Moab (mountain biking, hiking, rafting, kayaking). View stone arches and towering slabs of red sandstone. From Green River, take I-70 east to Crescent Junction, then head south on Utah 191. 435-719-2299

Canyonlands National Park (Native American ruins, geologic wonders, hiking, mountain biking) From Moab, travel north on Utah 191, then head west on Utah 313 to the Island in the Sky area of the park. Drive to the southeastern Needles area to view red and white rock pinnacles. 435-719-2313

Glen Canyon National Recreation Area (fishing, boating, swimming, mountain biking, four-wheeling). From Green River, take I-70 west, then turn south onto Utah 24 to Utah 95 south, then take Utah 276 south. Carl Hayden Visitor Center: 928-608-6404
