The Evergreen State
| The Evergreen State epitomizes the beauty of the Pacific Northwest with deep pine forests, snowy peaks, and miles of coastline. The breathtaking Cascade Mountains divide the state into two ecosystems: the coasts and woods of the west and the deserts of the east. In the far west lies the Olympic Peninsula, home to the Olympic Mountain range. The island-filled waters of Puget Sound divide the Olympics from Seattle, Tacoma, Bellevue, and Bellingham. The Cascade Mountains contain Mount Rainier, the state's highest peak (14,411 ft.), and North Cascades National Park. East of the mountains, warmer weather and a dry climate provide desert heat and excellent farming conditions. | ||||
