Summertime temperatures are warm, making this region the perfect place for boating and fishing. Try paddling in Lake Chelan, one of the nation’s deepest lakes, or fish for walleye on Lake Roosevelt. Although this is desert country, irrigation and rich soil also makes it prime farming land. Most of the state’s crops, including apples, are grown here.
