The Ohio River forms the western border of the state, bending through beautiful mountain scenery. Explore the junction of the Ohio and Kanawha Rivers at Pt. Pleasant, a monument dedicated to the frontiersmen who fought with Chief Cornstalk in one of the battles leading up to the Revolutionary War. Local Native Americans called this place Tu-Endie-Wei, or "point between two rivers." Watch for colorful orioles and tanagers, or eagles and waterbirds near the river.
