Anza-Borrego Desert State Park
This is the largest state park in California, encompassing over 600,000 acres. Visitors will find that this is an excellent desert destination for enjoying all sorts of recreation, including hiking, biking and more. In addition, visitors can enjoy the beautiful flora and fauna that inhabit the landscape, including bighorn sheep and colorful wildflowers.

Big Basin Redwoods State Park
Located south of San Francisco, Big Basin Redwoods State Park is a wonderful park with redwoods and more. Visitors to this park can enjoy plenty of activities and recreation. The park is also a good destination for enjoy some scenic drives. All of the roads into the park are curvy.

Bolsa Chica State Beach
Bolsa Chica State Beach is a wonderful destination for fishing. There are many options for surf fishing, as well as bare-handed fishing. The park stretches from Huntington Beach so Sunset Beach. Visitors can also enjoy the bike-way as well as wildlife and bird watching. Another benefit of the park is a year-round lifeguard.

Hearst San Simeon State Historical Monument
Hearst Castle is one of the most interesting attractions near San Louis Obisbo. It is a historic site, the castle was built by newspaper magnate William Randolph Hearst. Hearst Castle is located on top of Hearst's La Cuesta Encantada, which is now a museum open to the public. Tours of the castle are very interesting and feature art from around the world.

Huntington State Beach
Huntington State Beach is a fantastic and popular park for surfing. Visitors can also enjoy the fire rings, the bicycle trail and much more. In addition, the area is also a nesting sanctuary for some endangered species.

Humboldt Redwoods State Park
This state park protects the largest old-growth redwood forest in the world. Within the forest is the amazing drive known as the Avenue of the Giants. The scenic drive stretches for over 30 miles and showcases some of the most beautiful examples of giant redwoods. The drive is completely surrounded by the park.

Jedediah Smith Redwood State Park
This fantastic California State Park offers visitors the chance to explore some of the stunning old growth redwoods forest found int the northern region of the state. Jedediah Smith Redwood State Park is unique because the Smith River cuts through the park. Visitors to this park not only get to enjoy the redwoods, the river, but also have the opportunity to explore the miles of trails throughout the park.

Mal Coombs State Park
At Mal Coombs State Park visitors can see the Cape Mendocino Light. This lighthouse was moved by helicopter to Mal Coombs Park, where the lighthouse can be seen today at Point Delgado. The restored lighthouse has a long history that visitors can learn while taking a tour of the building.

Mount Diablo State Park
Located in the San Francisco Bay Area, this state park is an ecological treasure. From the top of the mountain visitors can see an amazing view. The park has beautiful wildflowers and plenty of hiking options.

Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park
Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park is a sanctuary of old growth coastal redwoods forest. Visitors can enjoy a wide range of activities within the beautiful forest. The park is great for wildlife viewing, beach combing, hiking and much more. Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park also has an interesting visitor center.
