Begin in the Olympic National Park, home to one of the only coniferous rain forests in the world (the Hoh Rainforest). Fish along azure Lake Crescent, or climb the peaks around Mount Olympus. On the state’s western edge you can dip your toes in the Pacific or explore the Native American ruins at Ozette Lake. Watch for black bears, elk, bald eagles, and mountain goats, or look for whales off the coast.
