Try white-water kayaking at Deception Pass, or wander through North Cascades National Park, enjoying the fir and cedar forests. Wherever you go in this rugged wilderness, look for wildlife. Grizzly bears and black bears both call these mountains home, as do pikas, porcupines, gray wolves, fishers, and wolverines. Birders can set their sights for bald eagles, osprey, and Harlequin ducks.
